Arun, an 11-year-old, South Asian boy, has recently lost his grandfather. His house is now eerily quiet, and filled with family members and cultural items that he is not familiar with. When his best friend, Luca, knocks for him, Arun ventures away from his cramped house, but finds visions following him, causing him to confront his duality.

After attending his mother’s funeral, Damien, overwhelmed by her sudden loss, runs away from his family and friends with only an old sketchbook belonging to his mother and a goal of getting to the beach they used to visit together. On the way, he reunites with Kai, his ex-boyfriend of many years, and is forced to tackle his broken goals and the hand his mother may have played in misshaping his life.
